The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will feature "most of the tech" offered by Call of Duty: Ghosts new, next-generation engine – but real-time lighting is still "beyond the capabilities of current-gen systems," Infinity Ward has claimed.
Discussing the differences between the current and next-gen versions of Call of Duty, executive producer Mark Rubin revealed that "most of the tech that we've put into the new engine will be available on current-gen.
"There's some obvious tech that isn't and can't be, like the Sub-D, the displacement mapping and the real-time lighting. That's stuff that is beyond the capabilities of curren-gen systems."
Rubin says that one of the big new features included in the current-gen version is Ghosts' new audio engine, initially created for Xbox One and PS4.
