Bombing Al-Jazeera

Once again i've drawn a cartoon that states the blooming obvious. It's a bizarre story.Was Bush really intent on bombing Al-Jazeera?
Would Bush then replace Al-Jazeera with the Disney channel? It's certainly suspicious that the Daily Mirror has been told not to publish the memo which allegedly states that Blair talked Bush out of bombing the station.

God and the Consumer

I always get bemused by folk who say fiercely
'You can say what you like about me but don't you dare say anything against my god.'
Surely we all choose our own gods and we choose them according to our own reflection? Each of us have our own gods or god perched on our shoulders always ready to defend our every argument. Even the atheists have the god of atheism. Some of us, it's true, had our gods chosen for us by our parents or our local community but over the years hopefully we've managed to make them look just a little bit more like us and less like the guy living next door.

Norman Lindsay Cartoon Competition

I entered this in a Norman Lindsay cartoon competition put on by the Norman Lindsay gallery in Faulconbridge. Norman Lindsay, for all you yanks reading this, was an Australian artist/painter/cartoonist/novelist famed for a) his fabulous artwork and b) his attitude toward wowsers (religious and other killjoys who were anti sex, anti nudity, anti art, anti whatever)
He's always been a big hero of mine. If he were alive today he'd be shocked at how repressive our society has become.
Anyway this cartoon portrays the good citizens of Faulconbridge being cuckolded by their wives with a few hairy looking satyrs. Lindsay's work often contained satyrs and nudity and so on.
Needless to say i didn't win.

This is a wishful thinking cartoon. Since Howard's announcement this week that Melbourne and Sydney are in immediate jeopardy, all Australians are crossing their fingers. We're hoping that any true blue home grown Aussie suicide bomber will say, bugger this bomb madness, i'm going for a swim'. That's the Australian way.

Meanwhile in the real world John Howard has announced a terror alert which seems suspiciously like a political ploy with which to sneak through his many dastardly bills. Police are furious since, by announcing the alert, he's blown a covert cop operation to catch the bad guys.
