Nvidia quietly cuts price of poorly reviewed 16GB 4060 Ti ahead of AMD launch

The original pricing was indeed an issue, but not the major one. That would go for its longevity, the 128-bit memory interface will likely make sure that it ages like fine milk.

On the other hand, AMD's new offerings are also odd. The leaked benchmarks put the RX 7800 XT in a similar ballpark as the previous RX 6800 XT, just more efficient and a bit cheaper (MSRP) but for $100 less it just has amazing value over the RTX 4070. Whereas the RX 7700 XT is a good choice over the RTX 4060 Ti but that is mostly due to the latter being a very bad value card and when put against AMD's own offering it just crash and burn.

I'm still running a GTX 1080. I thought the 4000 series would be my time to upgrade, but I think I'll wait for the 5000 series at this point
