Powers part of Sony E3 conference was "a mistake", says Yoshida

yess for now on media shouldn't be a part of e3 for any of the big 3. all 3 companies needs to be 100% games for now on media should have it's own show.

You don't say Yoshida. Seriously Sony's conference would have been much better if they skipped the whole Powers thing altogether. I would have prefered they used that time to talk about something more important like whats new with the Vita.

Thank you for saying that. me and my friends were laughing so hard at that part, cause we thought sony just lost e3 so bad. especially after that ratchet and clank commercial. they had so much cool stuff to show! they wasted it! at least gamescom is coming up.

All that needed was a short trailer not a several minute long boring presentation. They could have used that time to show off other things like a preview of Driveclub for example.

Hopefully we get more annuncments at Gamescom

Had they announced this at sandiego comic con it would have blown folks away, and been much more appropriate.

That part of the conference made me feel like I was watching the wonderbook segment again. I'm sure Powers could end up being interesting, but don't drag it out for 30 mins.

It didn't really bother me tbh. You've always got to expect some lows with the highs. Just bring the games and I'll be happy. There are more game expos other than E3.

It was the only "weak" part of the conference for gamers.

am really happy that they liked the LBP3 reception because that will mean more platformers from sony yay me .

Agreed. They should have said, "Hey look, new TV show called Powers, exclusive to PSN this year!" and then moved on.

BTW, this IS NOT the first exclusive TV show on PSN, that would have been "Xamd: Lost Memories" on the PS3! It launched exclusively on PSN then was available elsewhere later.

I am hoping that next E3, they keep the stuffed suits off stage. They need someone with better presentation skills and stage presence than the CEO up there.

glad to know they realize.... one really has to wonders how anyone would have thought the powers stuff would go over well after Microsoft tried the same thing with Steven Spielberg and halo and failed miserably

They could have used that time to talk about the vita. At least show a montage of games coming this fall for the console.

Well Gamescom next Sony just do what you do best and show us games games and more games.

Hindsight is 20/20 but how did anyone think that was a good idea to have so much time devoted to Powers to start with. I honestly think it was last minute filler because all they had was one slide of lame concept art.

Thank God I fell Asleep 5 minutes after it started. Their biggest mistake was the TV TV section. they should have known this since last year that was Micro mistake.

That part of Sony's show was terrible. Plus I'm still trying to figure out why on Earth Sony thought it was a good idea to leave Driveclub completely out of their conference. Otherwise it was a very solid show.

Hmm I can't help get the feeling that people saw the Uncharted trailer at the end and using that as a stepping stone to run with. I was great show through and through. Far from a bore fest like everyone making it out to be. People would use any dirt against Sony right now since they have all the momentum. It's like a dirt flinging contest.

Could be shorter, yes, they should talk about Powers another time, not on a games conference. But not compared to Ubisoft dance and fitness games, looks like some people will never understand. Let's not talk about the EA conference, well ,because there is nothing to talk about that.

Read in between the lines: clearly there was meant to be something there ie one of their cancelled projects but they decided to take it out last minute and needed that dude to waffle on longer to stretch for time.

I currently don't like anyone up there at Sony. I just love the PlayStation brand but wouldn't mind a complete change up there. Maybe someone who brings back some amazing exclusive JRPGS or an exclusive Bayonetta or buy a new IP or buy a cool game studio instead of burning money for PS Now and Morpheus.

I guess the question is what would they have filled the time slot with???
