Didn't look "more grounded" to me. Looked like a mixture of Fortnite and Watchdogs 2 from the trailer to me. The original Saints would have clowned on these new "saints".
I'm glad to hear it wasn't just me. If they can't make a minute of material that doesn't look like generic B-roll, how are they going to fill a whole game out with a story that we'll find engaging and funny
Kinda happy they’re moving away a bit from the juvenile ‘humor’ and attitude of the later games. I know the series had its fans, but it just looked like it was designed by, and for, drunk frat-boys, and that aspect just never appealed to me.
This looked like a return to basics, so over-the-top cartoony fun in an open world setting. We’ll see how it turns out, but at the very least it has my attention.
Third was fun and good but fourth kinda sucked. Too much superpowers and weird virtual shit. So I'm glad new one might even have some sort of story and not just flying to places. Also you make your own character to lessen the woke stuff. =D
Looks like it could be fun to me. Doesn't really look like a "Saints Row" game, but I guess that is why they call it a reboot instead of a remake. I will probably give it a shot. Definitely not a pre-order, though I can never understand why anyone does that anyway in this date and age of digital distribution.
They usually lock content away as preorder bonuses now. Fighting games will lock a fighter like that, some games will lock an outfit , weapons, palette swaps. Didn't Biomutant lock an entire class type behind like that?
The latest Saints Row i played was the one in VR or some stuff and super powers. That game was just... mayor disappointment. The flying and mega jumps literally killed all reasons to ever use a car or any other transportation.
Iam sorry but whatever this game is its not saints row. It's saints row in name only. This is yet another beloved game hijacked by woke terrorists. Yet another company pandering to a small Twitter mob with big mouths who were never fans,but demand representation, at the cost of what made these franchises good. It's sad that this continues to happen. Apparently real fans who supported these franchises no longer matter neither does profitability.
They said they want to remove the generic white man as the default, but all they did was replace one default with another default. Clearly they have no idea how to bring new demographics in without using cookie cutter designs.
It looks like a game tailored for a crowd that's more busy being offended by...everything...and less concerned with playing videogames, unless they're based on a tik tok meme about shoving a tail up your butt and pretending to be a house pet.
I see some saying it's looking woke the trailer didn't give to much away what was woke about it? was it the typical jock brute antagonist and the kind of nerdy crew? is it cause it didn't have the crude humor?

I can’t even begin to describe my disappointment with this reveal. Calling this game “Saints Row” is heresy.
They are clearly chasing Fortnite crowd with this abomination.
This is a sign of how the industry is radically changing.
I fear for GTA 6 at this rate...
